EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Wordy, I know! EMDR is a research-based, brain-based form of therapy designed to help your brain effectively process and resolve trauma and other mental health symptoms.

I am fully trained in EMDR modalities of therapy and have seen immense progress in clients interested in utilizing it.

Instead of using my own words, I’ll direct you to the official EMDR website to learn more https://www.emdria.org/about-emdr-therapy/

I’ve personally seen EMDR be very effective in resolving birth trauma, medical trauma, panic attacks, physical symptoms related to mental health, and perspective shifting.

I’m often asked how I do EMDR therapy over Telehealth, as part of the process involves bilateral movement (often eye movements). I typically utilize tapping as a form of bilateral movement (which allows our right/left brain to connect and also provides distraction from traumatic content). If you look at the photo above, I am demonstrating one form of bilateral tapping. If this method does not work for you, we will explore other options to find the right fit.

I often participate in the tapping with my clients, while directing them on what to focus on for each 10-20 second set of tapping.
